This is Figment. She’s a mixed breed medium-haired cat from an Arizona shelter, and she’s about 13 years old. She’s my brat cat. A true grump! She likes to bite me, but she’s very shy and would be lost without me. Her nickname is Pooh (and Bitch, and Tweak, and Short Round). Her little legs are only about 3 inches long! She looks a lot like those Munchkin cats, but she’s a mutt. My dad likes to say she’s 2 cats long and half a cat high…

This is Maia. She is also a mixed breed medium-haired cat, from a shelter in Idaho. She’s about 6 years old. I stopped at PetsMart in Boise one day, and this cat was there waiting for me. And when I say she was waiting for me, I mean that she and I were meant to find each other. Her name was originally Markie, which I hated, so renamed her Maia. It fits her much better, as she is a petite, feminine little girl.She had been adopted out TWICE before, then returned both times. She looked so sweet, and had a cute, soft little voice. What’s funny is I just so happened to have a brand new cat carrier with me in the car. So she went home with me. She is the best-behaved cat I’ve ever seen. Why anyone would return this cat after adopting her is totally beyond me. Needless to say, she has found a forever home with me. She is very special to me, and sleeps with me every night. She is also my knitting helper, and will hold my ball of yarn while I knit. Her nicknames are Baby Bug (it just seemed to fit. She’s as cute as a little baby bug, so…) and Cutie Patootie. She also recognizes Maya Papaya and Cutie Bootie.
